Has anyone used the 12 step AA program to quit smoking successfully?

sorry, no. I sucessfully quit by using the "my-husband-almost-died" method. I would NOT reccommend that one though. His lungs filled with fluid and he had pneumonia and actually did have to be brought back to life with the paddles. After he recovered (with only very minimal memory problems) he quit and I quit.
It may take something that drastic for some people to quit, or the 12 step program, or the gum, patch, whatever… you may have to try a few.
